The Institute for Financial Integrity (IFI) has announced the launch of its Global Counter-Illicit Finance Training Program, an online learning resource designed to equip professionals with essential knowledge to tackle financial crimes. With increasing global concerns over the integrity of the financial system, this innovative program aims to provide users with expert-led video content and interactive scenarios to better understand and address illicit finance risks.
The training programme, curated by experts from government and leading financial institutions, offers professionals a comprehensive overview of financial crime domains. With over 100 instructional videos totalling 8 hours of content, the programme explores the most critical areas of counter-illicit finance.
“We understand the increasing sophistication of financial crimes. As illicit activities grow more complex, traditional compliance training needs to evolve beyond just checking the box,” said Lauren Jack, Chief Operating Officer of IFI.
The training aims to engage today’s professionals in a way that will provide practical and actionable insights. Jack explained, “We’ve curated a library that offers a rich mix of expert-led videos, aiming to help organizations increase staff awareness and expertise while mitigating the evolving risks to the global financial system.”
Core Topics Covered
The curriculum focuses on a wide range of key topics, including:
- Counter-Illicit Finance Mission & Global Standards
- Illicit Threats, Vulnerabilities, and Risks, including money laundering, terrorism financing, fraud, bribery, corruption, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, sanctions, and strategic trade controls.
- Supervision and Preventative Measures
- Building a Culture of Compliance
- Enforcement Actions and their Impact
- Cross-Border Payments & Correspondent Relationships

The aim is to ensure that professionals are equipped not only with theoretical knowledge but also with the practical understanding needed to implement effective compliance strategies within their institutions. The goal is to protect businesses from illicit finance risks while safeguarding the broader financial system.
Chip Poncy, Global Head of Financial Integrity at K2 Integrity, praised the initiative, emphasising the need for better compliance training. “IFI’s new program is an ideal solution for jurisdictions and institutions looking to strengthen their compliance culture and bridge critical knowledge gaps. The authoritative, up-to-date content will support organisations in protecting their operations from financial crime,” Poncy said.
As the threat landscape of financial crimes continues to evolve, the Global Counter-Illicit Finance Training Program provides an opportunity for businesses to stay ahead of these risks, fostering better awareness and compliance strategies across the financial industry.
