VJ Technology, a leading UK distributor of fixings, fasteners, and building consumables, has become one of the first companies in the sector to pass the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) Assessment for Merchants and Distributors. This accreditation highlights the company’s commitment to improving product information standards in the construction industry following the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
The CCPI was developed in response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s review of building regulations and fire safety after the 2017 fire, aiming to ensure that construction products and materials meet the highest safety and performance standards. The goal of the CCPI is to drive a culture of transparency, clarity, and accountability in product marketing and information within the construction and infrastructure sectors.
VJ Technology’s new accreditation demonstrates its dedication to delivering high-quality, certified products that meet strict compliance requirements, offering greater reassurance to customers and partners about the safety, sustainability, and performance of the products they purchase.
The assessment process covered a range of critical factors, including leadership and company culture, confirming that VJ Technology has the necessary systems and processes in place to manage and communicate product information effectively. The company also showcased its ongoing commitment to improving the quality and accessibility of the data it provides to its customers.
Amanda Long, Chief Executive of CCPI Ltd, expressed her congratulations to VJ Technology for passing the assessment. “Merchants and distributors have a crucial role in the construction supply chain,” she said. “They manage the flow of product information and ensure that it is accurate, up-to-date, and reliable. By passing the CCPI assessment, VJ Technology has set itself apart as a leader in promoting better product information standards in the sector.”
Andrew Mobbs, CEO of VJ Technology, reflected on the achievement, stating, “As one of the first organisations to work alongside the CCPI, we are proud to support their mission to revolutionise the management and marketing of product information in the construction industry. Carrying the CCPI Assessed Mark underscores our ongoing commitment to continuously improving our product information and helping to encourage manufacturers and suppliers to do the same.”
The CCPI Assessment mark assures customers that the products they purchase from VJ Technology meet rigorous standards for clarity, transparency, and compliance. It is a significant step forward in the wake of the Grenfell disaster, where concerns about product safety and misleading information about building materials were brought to the forefront.
By securing this accreditation, VJ Technology is not only enhancing its reputation in the market but also contributing to the wider efforts to improve building safety and product transparency within the industry.
